Young Charlie is a true-blue young Aussie, and so is his friend Khaled. They spend time together on their scooters, as well as chatting about the things that they share, and the things that make them different. My Muslim Mate, written by exciting new author Amal Abou-Eid, is the story of how, through talking and learning about each other’s cultures, friendships can flourish and lives can work together harmoniously.

I got this book when I first met Sister Amal at a book read, the very minute I decided to buy it. The book explains the basics of Islam so beautifully to young minds. Its a daily must read at our place. Would definitely recommend it. 😊

I loved this book for so many reasons. As a Muslim, I finally felt like I had a book through which my children could learn about their culture and take pride in their religious beliefs and practices. They also had a platform through which they could convey these beliefs to their non Muslim mates. This book teaches both adults and children the power of understanding, knowledge and acceptance. My Muslim Mate should be in every single primary and secondary library. We need to overcome our fear of the Other; we need to reach out and break down all the barriers. This is what Amal’s wonderful book does.

I got this book for my little one after coming across Amal’s instagram and we both absolutely love it! This book explains Islam in such a clear concise way but in a storytelling version that can be understood by all. It is a great resource for both adults and children who would like to learn more about Islam as this book breaks down barriers and concepts that are often misundestood.

Thank you so much Amal for representing our muslim community so well. I wish I had this book growing up.

This is an amazing way to show both acceptance, respect and diversity for younger children in an open and respectful environment! Super cute too!

I met a lovely Muslim family last year who have accepted us as family. This book was a great starting point to learn about the religion that I was so ill informed of during my younger years. Thank you xx
